It's hard to believe I began blogging in 2010, and despite all that has happened since then, to change my life around, I'm still determined to keep on plotting, and blogging on about it. It's New Year's Day, grey, wet and windy, but it's a good opportunity to start thinking about my plans for this year's crops, so time to look through the seed catalogues. The freezer is still very full of produce from last year's bumper harvest and it needs using up, so I've got vegetable soup on the go in the slow cooker, have just cooked down apple and blackberries in the microwave, and there's a container of grape juice thawing out. I really must use up some of my jams and jellies too, unless I can share some more out amongst my family and neighbours.
As I write this, it's just coming up to 2pm, and becoming darker and more grim out there. A day to hunker down in front of the TV and to watch an old film.
A very happy New Year to all my fellow plotters. Hopefully, see you all soon.
Happy New Year, Chris! It is typical, of course, that today is just beautiful - and it's my first one back at work - boo!
ReplyDeleteSorry you had to go back to work on such a spring-like day.
ReplyDeleteChristmas was great, spent with my family. New Year's Eve, on my own like last year, missing Mike and feeling utterly miserable. Still, lots to look forward to this year, so back to positive thinking again. A trip to the plot this morning was good therapy, altho' there was no one there but me. Did a bit of this and that, but sense prevailed and I didn't go mad, as my creaking joints have improved somewhat over the holiday period. There are buds appearing on my fruit trees, the birds were singing and very active, and I got rather muddy.
