Hellebores and blue skies

Kneeling on the wet earth to take photos of the downturned hellebore flowers is not always successful.  I have to hold onto the stems to lift them with one hand and aim the lens rather blindly in the general direction,  often resulting in  the wobbles and, sometimes, cramp. (I have a small tripod, but never remember to have it on hand). The best way to see the beautiful flowers is to float them in a bowl of water, as in the large photo.  These have lasted indoors for the past three days and still looking good.  I love the colours.  They look like beautiful prom dresses.

The sunny, blue sky days brought out the gardeners (and the pressure washers, lawn mowers, strimmers, DIYers), the birds, the friendly neighbours, but best of all the fully opened crocus, and down on the plot there are buds on the fruit trees and bushes, so I just had to take a shot of the cherry tree against the blue sky.
The garlic's up, the shed's painted, the new strawberry plants settling in, and I haven't sown any seeds yet!  I'm off into the greenhouse any minute now to do something about that.  It's another beautiful day after an overcast start, and I can't wait to get outside.
